Q. Are the Academic Programs offered by Caledonia University accredited?

A. Caledonia University also maintains a unique internal Self-Accreditation System. The internal Accreditation Board stringently accredits a particular faculty going through its annual quality assurance audit of the University. By doing so, it assures that the highest standards of its academic programs are continuously maintained by a particular faculty. Because of our high quality assurance standards it is not surprising that qualifications from Caledonia University are highly valued by employers from leading businesses, professions and industries as well as multi-national companies.

Q. Are there any other entry requirements needed apart for my academic qualification?

A. English language is the main medium of instruction for all the University’s academic programs. Students must therefore be proficient in English otherwise they may be required to sit for GMAT or TOEFL test before being accepted by the University.

Q. Please explain about the Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL)?

A. Applicants who don’t have the formal academic qualifications may be able to gain access to a postgraduate course through the University’s APL policy. APL recognizes the knowledge and skills that individuals have gained through work-based learning and other appropriate experience. Credit can also be accumulated or transferred where work- based learning or modules from other postgraduate programs match the learning outcomes of specific parts of our courses. For candidates lacking in formal academic qualifications, they may apply for admission under the University Approved Adult Prior Learning (AAPL) Program where the candidates’ work experience is scrutinized as a prerequisite for admission into a particular academic program.

Q. Are on-campus programs available in Caledonia University?

A. Caledonia University is a distance learning institution and as such all it’s programs are conducted only by distance learning. On campus programs are however available at our partner institutions’ campus in their respective countries.

Q. How are the programs conducted at Caledonia University’s partner institution campuses?

A. Partner institutions normally conduct programs on an ‘in-house company’ basis or on a mixed open basis where seminars, workshops, full day or evening classes are conducted in their respective campuses.

Q. Can I transfer my credits earned from another university to Caledonia University?

A. Transfer of credits earned from a recognized Higher Learning Institution is possible provided official academic transcripts in English are submitted to Caledonia University for evaluation. The eventual credit/s transfer acceptance will be decided at the sole discretion of Caledonia University Examination Senate.

Q. How are distance learning students assessed?

A. Distance learning students are assessed by either one of the following assessment modes:

  1. 100% formal examination
  2. 50% exams; 50% assignment/coursework
  3. 100% by assignment/coursework

Q. When does an academic program begin in Caledonia University?

A. There is no structured Academic year as all programs offered by Caledonia University is based on a modular system where students can come on to a program at any time during the year.

Q. How much will a typical academic program cost?

A. An undergraduate program will normally cost USD7,500/- per level whereas a postgraduate program will cost not less than USD11,000/-.

You will be invited for a personal interview and sometimes, on a case to case basis, you may be required to complete an aptitude test to be decided at the discretion of our partner institution.
